Getting bored in the bedroom? Maybe you’re starting to go crazy looking at the same four walls. Even if restaurants and businesses were back to normal, we would still be itching for a change. The best place to start, is your bedroom!
Looking for an escape from the boring? Or maybe you’re looking for something functional? The truth is, even if it seems “luxurious” or a little “overboard” these days, you should treat yourself! Use these simple and beautiful ideas, to help you change up your style!
- Install a shelf!
So many people are scared to do this. They ask themselves “will I have the tools?” or “What if it’s not level?!” This is the wrong attitude to have. Shelving is one of the easiest ways to update a room. You can completely replace a bedside table with a shelf making more room on the floor. The double benefits to a shelf is both it’s functionality and beauty! Do not miss out on this opportunity of a lifetime! Hanging a shelf may seem daughtning but is one of the most rewarding projects.
- Dress up a wall
This may seem obvious, but for some is a scary choice. Here are some ideas for dressing up a wall. Consider hanging a mirror. Mirrors offer more light in a room, and can also be beautiful and functional. You might also want to consider a piece of art! Art does not have to be expensive, maybe you even want to try making your own? Just make sure you hang it up after and be proud of what you’ve done!
- Upgrade your bedside
Bedside tables are the one area you use the most in your room. So many of us need a space now to plug our cell phones in or keep our alarms! Make sure the space directly next to your bed is beautiful and calming. Consider using an oil diffuser, or a calming candle. Just make sure it’s as functional as it is comforting!
- Try setting the mood
Mood lighting is so important! The worst thing that could happen when you enter your calming space at night, is to be hit with bright light! You want the light to be adjustable. Either have blackout curtains or dimmers on your lights. But the easiest way to get mood lighting is with candles, lanterns, or even string lights. The goal is to get creative!
- Fluff it up
Don’t forget about your pillows! They are an easy accessory that can change the warmth of a room. If you’ve been using cool colored pillows, try warmer colors! Try new pattern, shapes and sizes, because why not!? You can never have enough pillows. So make sure you have enough to sleep on and enough to toss onto the floor.
- Don’t forget about the ground!
A simple way to update a room is a rug! Your feet are also experiencing the space, so whether you have carpeting or hardwood, a rug can change everything in a room! Make sure to give yourself a fresh start, so if you’re working with dark colors, choose light colors for your rug. If you have light colors on the floor, maybe bringing in some warming color could help!
- New Sheets
The obvious change you can make is sheets. Not only will you see a difference but you’ll feel a difference when you sleep. Make sure you check the thread count if you’re picky! Sheets that have a higher thread count may be softer to some people, but they also might feel “sticky” too. You might want to check a set of sheets you like first to see what their thread count is first.
